This course is an introduction to the Japanese language and is designed for students who have some knowledge of the Japanese
language. The purpose of the introductory course is to give students a solid grounding in all four basic skills – listening, speaking,
reading and writing. It will allow students to express simple ideas orally, listen and comprehend dialogue, develop basic skills in
reading and writing the Japanese syllabary Hiragana and Katakana and a number of Kanji.
