Coquitlam College is committed to providing educational programs to a diverse range of students, while ensuring that all applicants meet the necessary general and program-specific admission criteria to set them up for academic success.
General Admission Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in the English language.
- Academic qualifications and/or GPA requirements specific to the individual program.
- Canadian citizenship or legal authorization to study in Canada (such as a study permit).
- Aged at least 15+ years of age.
English proficiency is required for admission, demonstrated through tests like IELTS. If you don’t meet the requirement, we offer English courses to help you qualify.
Program Specific Requirements
To enter our University Transfer Program, you must have at least one of the following:
- High school graduation or equivalent (minimum 60% average)
- Vocational/technical/polytechnic diploma (minimum 60% average)
- Mature student status
To enter our Associate of Arts Program, you must have at least one of the following:
- High school graduation or equivalent (minimum 60% average)
- Vocational/technical/polytechnic diploma (minimum 60% average)
- Mature student status
Students are accepted into Grade 10, 11 or 12 of the Senior High School Program based on an evaluation of the official transcripts from their previous school, as well as their English language fluency. Please contact the College for more information.
Students must be at least 15 years of age when they begin their studies. In some cases, you will need to take the Coquitlam College English Proficiency Test to find the best courses for your level. Please contact the College for more information.
