Our orientations are designed to help you transition smoothly into life at Coquitlam College, giving you the tools and resources you need for a successful academic journey. This orientation is designed for both domestic and international students, ensuring that everyone feels supported and prepared. Whether you’re navigating a new culture or adjusting to academic expectations, we’ll provide the guidance and information you need to thrive. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet fellow students, faculty, and staff, and discover the many services and activities available to enhance your college experience. We look forward to supporting you every step of the way as you begin your exciting journey at Coquitlam College!

New students will receive a Welcome Pack and have the chance to connect with staff and current students over lunch. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, make friends, and get to know the campus better. Be sure to join us and discover all the fun activities planned for Welcome Week firsthand. 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Presentation
Feel welcome and informed with essential information and Q&A. Get the information you need to start the school year on a high note!

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Campus Tour
Discover your new campus! This tour will help you get familiar with your classes and learn where everything is located.

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch and Mingle Time
Join us at the school cafeteria for a delicious lunch. Meet new friends, chat with fellow students, and enjoy some great music!

12:30 PM – 3:00 PM: On Campus SIN number session
Service Canada officers will be on campus to help you get your SIN number — no need to stress about long lines or trekking to a Service Canada office. This is your chance to take care of it right here. Don’t miss out on this super convenient opportunity to get all set up for your time in Canada!

1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Health & Wellness Workshop (Room 324)
At the Health and Wellness workshop, you will learn about managing stress, staying active, eating well, and accessing healthcare in Canada. It’s a great opportunity to get tips on adjusting to life in Canada and maintaining a healthy lifestyle during your studies.

2:05 PM – 2:35 PM: Academic policies workshop (Room 324)
At the Academic Policies workshop, new students will learn about important rules and regulations, including grading systems, attendance requirements, and academic integrity. You’ll also get information on how to access academic support and resources to help you succeed throughout your studies.

Pre-Departure International Student Orientation

For international students, be sure to attend our Pre-Departure International Student Orientation! This session covers essential topics to help you settle into life in Canada, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your journey ahead. You’ll learn about Canadian culture, banking tips, setting up a phone plan, accommodation options, and what clothing to pack for the Canadian climate, among other important information. Our goal is to make your transition as smooth as possible, so you can start your studies with confidence and ease. Join us for this valuable session and get ready for an exciting adventure in Canada!
